Welcome to the Home of the College of Pharmacy Student Organizations and Local Chapters! This site is brought to you by the Utah Student Pharmacist Alliance and the College of Pharmacy Webmasters. Here you can browse our local chapter pages, read recent news, view event photos, find upcoming events and tests, and purchase or renew your membership.
The U of U College of Pharmacy has one of the smallest class sizes in the nation, which brings many advantages to us as students with our education. However, in order to accommodate all student leadership positions within the pharmacy organizations, we have created USPA, an umbrella organization, that supports all of our professional student organizations and directs their affairs. While it is entirely student run we do have outstanding advisors. Yearly elections and nominations are held and we encourage you to run or apply for these positions.
The following organizations have active student chapters and are directly represented by the USPA organization: Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (UU-AMCP), American Pharmacists Association Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP), American Society of Health System Pharmacists (ASHP-SSHP), and National Community Pharmacist Association (UU-NCPA).
In addition, the following organizations have a growing presence on our campus and are supported by USPA: The International Society of Pharmacoeconomic Outcomes Research (ISPOR) and Health Science Student Council (HSSC).
In the campus student government called the Associated Students of the University of Utah (ASUU) we have two elected representatives, a Senator and an Assembly Representative. These students are selected through a campus-wide election and may only be voted for by current pharmacy students.
State professional organizations that often collaborate with our student organizations include the Utah Society of Health System Pharmacists (USHP) and Utah Pharmacist's Association (UPhA). The views of these organizations do not necessarily reflect the views of USPA or any other student pharmacy organization.
