Research Interests: currently my research focuses on the application of crosslinked hyaluronic acid (HA) in medical fields, which include tissue engineering, post-operative adhesion prevention, acceleration of wounding healing, anti-cancer drug screening, establishment of animal cancer model, and optimization of serum-free cell culture medium. I am the key co-inventor for HA technology that has significant commercial interests. My research has made possible obtaining 4 research awards from NIH, 2 grants from University of Utah Research Foundation, and also the recently established Center of Excellence of Utah (Center of Therapeutic Biomaterials). At the same time, my research has helped to establish many collaborations in The University of Utah. Meanwhile, 3 confidential disclosures have been filed to the Technology Transfer Office mostly based on my research work, and two patent applications had been filed.
