Our research is focused on applying controlled and triggered release principles to the design of microbicidal vaginal drug delivery systems for the prevention of the sexual transmission of HIV. We are working on projects that range from new materials discovery that could lead to new advanced microbicides, the development of new assays to evaluate microbicide products, and sustained delivery system projects of which some are developed enough to begin pushing towards the clinic with the help of our collaborators at the International Partnership for Microbicides and CONRAD. |
