The University of Utah is nestled in the Wasatch foothills, overlooking Salt Lake City, the Great Salt Lake, and the West Desert. The Department of Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Chemistry continues to lead the way to define and expand the scientific avenues for improving therapy by improving the delivery of drugs and therapeutic agents; understanding the fate of drugs in the body; and focusing on drug delivery from packaging to release of therapy. The University of Utah, School of Pharmacy has consistently been ranked in the top 4 every year since 1975. The Department of Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Chemistry has been consistently ranked in the top ten universities for funding with the National Institutes of Health funding and research productivity. Each year our department receives a combined total of $5 million dollars in grants and research funding. Each year our graduate students benefit from this funding for their research, publications, and results.
