Adjunct Faculty & Preceptor Information

Adjunct Faculty Appointment Process

The responsibilities of Adjunct Faculty include:

  • Teaching at least three students per academic year (May – April)
  • Attendance at one of the College’s Spring or Fall Preceptor Meetings (ACPE approved)
  • Attendance at the College’s “New Faculty Orientation” that is approximately 2.5 hours (ACPE approved)

In order to start the Adjunct Faculty appointment process, you will need to submit the following items to:

  • A signed, original letter of intent addressed to:

    Diana I. Brixner, RPh, PhD
    Associate Professor and Chair
    Department of Pharmacotherapy
    College of Pharmacy

  • Three professional letters of recommendation addressed to Dr. Brixner; (Please include the names of the three individuals in your letter of intent)
Please note:
Both your CV and Potential Preceptor Information sheet may be faxed or emailed to Tracé Hinckley, Administrative Assistant at (801) 581-5984.

Upon receipt of all seven items, your request for appointment will be reviewed at the next monthly Core Faculty Meeting.  Upon approval, Dr. Brixner will send a letter to you notifying you of our intent to recommend your appointment.  Please be advised that faculty appointments are contingent upon approval at all University levels and are effective from the date of approval through June 30 of the following year and are reviewed each spring by the Department for retention.  Upon approval of your appointment from the Board of Trustees, you will receive a Letter of Notification from the President of the University.  Narneice Craven, our clerkship coordinator will be following-up with you as well, regarding the required New Faculty Orientation.  If you have any questions regarding the faculty appointment process, please contact myself at (801) 213-3421 or Tracé Hinckley at (801) 581-5984.
