ANALYTICAL TOXICOLOGY

Analytical toxicology is the major research mission of the Center for Human Toxicology. The faculty in this research unit are internationally recognized for their work in developing sophisticated and sensitive analytical methods for the measurement of drugs in a variety of human tissues. The emphasis has been on drugs of abuse, including the psychostimulants, and more recently, performance enhancing drugs, such as steroids. This expertise is in high demand and Center faculty collaborate extensively within and outside the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology.
